Greece player Tsimikas was signed last summer from Greek Super League giants Olympiacos as the deputy to first choice left-back Andy Robertson and he has played second fiddle to the Scottish international player as expected throughout the current season. The Reds paid around £11m for the 24-year-old defender.

Tsimikas was an unused substitute as Newcastle United scored in added time though Arsenal loanee Joe Willock to rescue a point from the game. Willock is on loan from Arsenal at Newcastle United and he has been on fire in front of goal.

Willock scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season for Newcastle United against the Reds having joined the Magpies in the January transfer window. He has now scored three goals in his last four games. The Englishman has played all those four games as a substitute.

Willock was able to cancel out the opening goal from Egyptian international Mohamed Salah. Salah gave the Reds the lead as early as the third minute. The Merseysiders threatened to run riot at times but were denied by poor finishing on their part. The likes of Salah, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all missed decent opportunities to add to the opening goal. Those misses ensured that Newcastle United were able to pick a point from the game.

With the result, Liverpool have now drawn their last three games in all competitions. Significantly, they are four points off Chelsea in fourth as far as the battle for Champions League football is concerned.
